I ordered a size 8 as normally that is the size I wear to any other shoes. This size 8 was HUGE compared to the normal size that I wear. As the item was needed urgently I didn't return for a smaller size but it's wise to try at least a half size or a size smaller when ordering. 

My feet are size 8 but I often buy size 8.5 because they are wide (and a bit flat!). I ordered these ones in 8s. They fit very well - especially with thick socks and insoles. I do recommend insoles for comfort. I buy them for all my shoes, not just the cheap ones. 

I think these do need insoles because they feel a bit thin underneath. If you do the above, they are VERY comfortable. I walk a lot and wear shoes out quickly, so cheap shoes are my strategy for every day. These fit the bill perfectly, especially in winter.
